Smokkr – Norse Apron Dress

Norse apron dress with four-panel construction. This pattern consists of front and back panels that are wider than the side panels, consequently moving the seams toward the sides and resulting in a more flattering look. Gores were inserted in every seam, starting at hip level.

The dress was made of medium weight wool. A contrasting wool fabric was used to create straps and add a decorative element to the superior dress border.

An embroidered panel was added to the front of the dress. More information about the embroidery can be found here .

A linen tunic is worn underneath the smokkr. It can be seen here .
